A = Another A-to-Z Challenge

A to Z Letter A

Last April, I participated in the A-to-Z Challenge, where over 1800 bloggers accepted the challenge to write 26 posts for the month of April (every day except Sundays) using one letter of the alphabet per day.   It was a life-changing month for me as my mom died just 9 days into the challenge, but still, I managed to continue getting each of my 26 posts out and in the end, was grateful for the creative diversion (and now that I’ve reread those posts, it seems I managed to write a couple really good ones during that time too!).

So, I’m going to take the challenge again this year and see what can come of it!  This year, WinnieViews is blog number 123 out of more than 2200 blogs participating.  It should be fun to start clicking that list randomly to see what other bloggers are doing with that same alphabet letter each day!

When starting to prepare my topic lists for the challenge a few weeks ago, it looked like I’d be blogging about mostly introspective, non-travel subjects.  But, March was an amazing month of travel and photography! I’ve still got a half-dozen posts to share of those adventures! So, I’ll try to “shoehorn” those travel posts into each alphabet letter as best I can for the early part of the month, and switch back to the other topics after that.

I arrived back home to Chicago two days ago and am now making my way through a 4-month pile of snail mail to prepare for filing taxes.  Then, the hard labor starts to finish up a few more house projects and sort/purge through the last piles of stuff to get the house on the market ASAP.  Winnie does not want to stay parked in the driveway too long!

What a roller coaster the next few months should be Smile

  1. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I hope this challenge is a better one for you. Good luck! I can't wait to see what you have waiting for us.

  3. Glad you're home safe and sound. Hope the weather is ok. Looking forward to your posts on the trip from Tx to Illinois. I laughed today as I received a note from my niece in McHenry. I had written her and said I would come up to see my sister and family when it warmed up. SHE replied, "Don't come before July" which made me laugh. I had forgotten the time I went in June and had to borrow sweat shirts and long pants. No, no, no, that won't happen this time, hopefully!

  4. Wow, that's an incredible achievement - to continue to blog in the face if adversity. I look forward to catching more posts over the course of the #AtoZChallenge

  5. Maybe some ideas:
Because I can! (On why you full time travel in your Minnie with Millie.)
Can I help you find something? (Said when having a yard sale to get rid of "stuff".)
Darn, where did all this stuff come from? (After the yard sale.)
Energy needed. ( When the job gets grueling.)
Finally, the light at the end of the tunnel! (Of course, when there is light at the end of the tunnel.)
Go ahead, you can do this! (To those who express a desire to become a full time vagabond, I'll include myself in that group.)
    Heck yeah! (Self explanatory.)
In the end , its your life. (Also self explanatory.)
Jasper is a National Park in Canada.
    kissimmee is in Florida.
    Live your Life!

    ... and so on.

  6. Lynne, thanks for the timely heads up about this. I discovered the challenge through you last year, and I happened to read your blog yesterday and was able to get going on time with it. Good stuff!

  7. I hear you! Does this ride every slow down? I'm envious of your traveling, but I imagine we'll get there too, once we're out of the young family stage. When the kids were younger we could just move around if we wanted to experience new places. Not so much anymore. *shrugs*
